Hey My Friend Got Bitten By A Dog And Has

Hey my friend got bitten by a dog and has an inch long gash in his hand. He went to the hospital immediately because it wouldnt stop bleeding. The doctor said that he was worried there was already bacteria in the would and that if he stitched it up it would seal the infection in. There is fat literally oozing out of this gash and it looks aweful. What care would you reccomend for this wound?
