Hi - just read something on Lupus which gets overlooked often. I have chronic pain, in more and more locations and seems to be in the joints. First (15+/- yrs ago) it was my lower back, diagnosed as OA at the age of 35 roughly. Then into my knees, mostly the right one. About 3 or 4 yrs ago maybe, my right big toe was painful and couldn't walk on it, that turned out to be OA per xray. Neck and shoulders have been bothering me and had xray last week on that - dr. says it's significant arthritis, lovely. I suspect it's in the ankles too as they are very bothersome. I have a bump on my left achilles tendon and they say I must have damaged it somehow. PT did no help, and no, I'm not stretching on a regular basis, although I do a lot of walking (5-10k steps per day) and bike ride when time permits. I had a radial frequency ablation on the back 5 yrs ago but didn't get much relief out of that, if any. They're talking to me about it again (just moved from NH to WA) but not sure I want to go through all that (time and money) when it's only the back, and my neck and ankles still kill me. I take 20 mg of percocet (oxycodone) 2-3 times a day which helps but wish it did better as it doesn't help all that much (yes, I prob need more given the tolerance to it now). My left ankle swells and they say could be circulation (I think I had some strange test done...??). Oh, and most recently, my left hand/fingers tingle. Never any shooting pain down leg or arms. Stiff and painful aches and pains. I hate it. I can't sleep more than 2-3 hrs at a time as I wake in pain. I can't stand still for more than 15-20 mins before I feel I need to bend forward to stretch the back and give it a rest. What's this about Lupus? I see my new family dr. next week - is there a test I can ask for/about? Is there any other pain treatments I can try? I want my 50's to be the best years, just turned 50 in March. Help! Thanks!! Kelly
