Hi - My Problem Started About A Month Ago. Initially

Hi - my problem started about a month ago. Initially it was just occasional twitching of the left eye. This has become more frequent in that I have multiple episodes of eye twitching on a daily basis. Added to this the eye feels itchy and scratchy - not on the eye itself but in the eye socket Behind the eye and the bottom of the eye near the cheek bone is sore and slightly bluish in colour. Please adviseas to what this could be. I do not really have any headaches that accompany this.
