Hi. 29yr Old Female- Hurt My Neck Recently (not Sure

Hi. 29yr old female- hurt my neck recently (not sure how, but I do have an active three year old) and did go to my doctor. Diagnosis was a muscle strain...but now, three weeks later and I'm still having some strange sensations. I have aching pain at the base of my skull and the napersyn I was prescribed doesn't seem to help that. Tonight I was massaging the base of my skull and top of my neck to try to relieve some of the pain- I did feel a weird sensation of pressure in my head for a few minutes after that, but it went away. Now, tonight, I am experiencing a pulsing (my heartbeat) in the top of my mouth, nose and cheeks (sinus area.) I have also had some shots of pain to the left side of my forehead. Any idea what this could be?? Is this all neck related?
