Hi. A Close Friend Was Diagnosed With Stage IV Lung

Hi. A close friend was diagnosed with stage IV Lung Cancer. She is in a lot of pain. The tumor is large and in her right lung. She also has tumors on her adrenal gland and at the base of her spine. Her greatest concern now is pain management. I read that there are tools to help track pain so as to help with treatment of the pain. Can you tell me where I can find this information? Also, while I know you cannot make a diagnosis or prognosis without seeing a patient, based upon your experience, is her situation terminal? I don't think she wants to do expensive and/or painful treatment. How can friends help?
