Hi Doc, I Am 36 Years Old And My Period

Hi Doc, I am 36 years old and my period was 9 days late. Done a blood test and came back positive. Today I had a brown discharge (9th day after missed period). I am confused.What does that mean? Am I not pregnant? or is this a first sign of a miscarriage?
