Hi Doc, I've Been Suffering For Rhinitis Like Symptoms For

Hi Doc,

I've been suffering for rhinitis like symptoms for more than 2 -3 years now. Symptoms include runny nose, clogged nose, watery nose, a lot of sneezing (I recall sometimes I reach more than 5 sneeze in a row); some times sore throat and headache. It's on all year round, but I noticed less triggers during hot days (summer), I think it's like 2 bad days out of 7. And in colder weathers, it's like 4 bad days out in a week. I don't have this before, in fact I even worked before in a construction but doesn't encounter allergies. Can allergy develop over time? Or I'm wondering if this really is allergy at all.

Some other changes/ observations if I may recall are:
- I'm not sure what triggers it yet.
- Some good day where I dont have trigger at all, I can work all day even at harsh environment.
- I always wake-up without it, then few seconds or minutes awake, my nose will start itching and watering.
- I've tried some antihistamine, the only one that seem to work on me is levocetirizine.
- I think levoceterizene sometimes doesnt work, as there are times where I took it before bed but still wake up with symptoms.
- Some of the antihistamine I remember I tried and doesnt work at all are loratadine, cetirizine, and some nasal sprays (olonase).
- I remember some time before, I woke up without symptoms, then my wife squeezed my nose, it instantly triggered ithcy and dripping watery nose all day.
- I tried going to an ENT specialist before (last year), and he confirmed just by lookin inside my nose that it was indeed allergy, with sinusitis. He prescribed different intihistamines, antibiotics

and nasal sprays for 3 months, it improved my nose but not totally. I felt like amongst the antihistamine I took that time for 3 months, the only one that I think works is zykast.
- symptoms returned after few weeks.
- Our company doctor advised me to try steam inhalation. Tried it, covered my head with a towel over a steaming water but it actually worsened and felt like I had a totally closed sinuses that time.

- I live in a tropical country.
- I'm 5'7" in height, 30 yrs old, male.
- Over the course of 4 years, I've gained weight, from 60Kg to around 80Kg.
- I work 9hours a day mostly on office works.
- Been working on the same company for 11 years now.
- I've been getting worst sleep for the past 4 years than before for the following reasons:
     > We had a child w/c is now 4 yrs old (daddy duties)
     > I moved further from work, so travel times increased from 15mins to 2 hours (one way travel time), this is also 4 years ago.
- I'm just a new driver, been driving for a year now. For some strange reasons, rhinitis symptoms subside whenever I drive, it's like magic.
- Also sometimes, while being busy working on something I think is enjoyable, while unaware, symptoms improves.
- What I want to try next is to try to lose weight (been planning this for more than a year now, lol) and do some regular cardio exercise which I think I'm lacking right now and see if it helps, do you think it will?
- Also.. after a ton of thinking, I think I now have to find a work that is closer to home, I think I'm getting tired of my daily 4 hours travel to and from work.
- Can this be stress related?

Thanks and sorry if I got so many questions.
