Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doc. My 30 year old sister was today diagnosed with TB of the abdomen. Two days ago she was rushed into surgery after they discovered on her CT scan her appendix had perforated. The surgeon managed to remove the "mush" as he put it and suspected at the time she had TB after operating. The results came back today and it is. Is there a risk for her in the long term? She is going to be put a 10 month course of treatment. How about the contagiousness regarding me and family? We are praying she will return to being a healthy and strong individual.
