Hi Doctor, 56 Yo Female With Nodes On Both Sides

Hi Doctor, 56 yo female with nodes on both sides of thyroid. Needle biopsy is negative, scan once a year with very minimal change. My ENT says as long as nothing is bothering me I should just keep the thyroid because I need it, but lots of symptoms for underactive thyroid. Guess my question is what is your professional opinion regarding keeping the thyroid vs removing, benefits? hope this makes sense.
