Hi Doctor, I Am 40 Years Old Female Having Blood

Hi Doctor,
I am 40 years old female having blood sugar for the last 18 years , recently visited an Ophthalmologist Doctor and she prescribed tablet " glo eye " to prevent retinopathy. The Doctor did a retina test and said there is no current issue with the eye only thing there is a slight increase in my eye lens power. The doctor also went on to say that since I am having blood sugar for so many years so now since I have reached the age of 40 so it is better to have a precaution as such she prescribed "glo eye" tablet. Need your help to know whether this will have any impact on my eye.
