Hi Doctor
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant during this I had to change doctors due change in location.
My first doctor had prescribed preglac and had suggested to have the calicum tablet in the morning and the iron tablet in the evening. Approx 1250 mg calcium and 1.5 mg folic acid .
But my new doctor has of prescribed idocal and livogen XT and 2 doses daily. Taking my daily intake of calcium to 2000 mg and folic acid to 3 mg
Is it OK to take such high doses of calcium and folate , i am bit concerned whether this will adversely effect the baby or myself.
There was no test done before change of the tablets.
So it was not prescribed because of my difieciency .
Could you please clear my concern and I can continue to have 2 doses of idocal and livogen XT
