Hi, Doctor, I Have Been Taking 10mg OxyContin 4 Times

Hi, Doctor,
I have been taking 10mg OxyContin 4 times a day for 5 years. It is to treat severe lingering pain after I had a 7 level neck fusion due to an accident. I decided I want to stop taking the OxyContin and went to a doctor who would help me get off the medication. He gave me Subutex 8mg and it made me violently ill. Why would this happen?
