Hi Doctor,
I have regular MRI's (about every year to year and a half) to evaluate the white matter around my brain that was discovered almost twenty years ago with a "probable MS" diagnosis. The original reason I had the MRI was because I was experiencing tingling and numbness on my right side of my body. The tingling and numbness gradually went away over about 6 months. Since that episode almost 20 years ago, I've had no further MS symptoms and although I see a neurologist, I have never taken any MS medications. In 2011, my MRI noted some mild left maxillary sinus disease. I was not having any symptoms. Each year after, the MRI has noted mild fluid in the inferior right mastoid air cells. Again - I was not having any symptoms. Last July, my right ear plugged up and it has felt like I'm high up in the mountains, even though I live at sea level. Last month, I went to a local ENT doc and had a hearing test which came back normal for hearing sensitivity but noted that "Tympanometry revealed reduced compliance with negative middle ear pressure and normal ear canal volume bilaterally". The ENT doc suggested it would probably clear up eventually on its own. It seems like it's now a little worse, I now have a slight bit of tinnitus and every once in a while, I can hear the sound of my heart beat in my ear. What would you suggest I do next to get this figured out and resolved back to normal, if possible.
