Hi Doctor, My Boyfriend Is 54 Years Old. He Weighs

Hi Doctor, my boyfriend is 54 years old. He weighs 218 lbs and is 5'8". He has a history of smoking marijuana and binge drinking twice a week. Over the past few months his blood pressure reading has been as high as 157/110 and always over 130/102. He has been experiencing a light headed feeling over the last couple of weeks. He takes trigyceride medication. Is he in immediate danger? he thinks I'm over reacting but I've been reading online about hypertension and it's very scary. Especially because it's referred to as the silent killer. Thank you for your advice, Leslie
