Hi Doctor, My Mother Is A 51 Year Old Woman

Hi Doctor, my mother is a 51 year old woman who suffers from chronic coughing which then is followed by some wheezing. A local doctor says she has allergies causing these symptoms, could there be any other reason? This has been going on for 5 years.
