Hi Dr. - I Need A BP Medication Recommendation To

Hi Dr. - I need a BP medication recommendation to replace 12.5mg HCTZ that I have taken since Feb of this year. It has caused severe rashes on both arms due to sun exposure this summer. I would like a replacement with both diuretic and beta blocking qualities, but with minimal side effects. My doctor didn't discuss the switch, but just called in Metoprolol as a replacement, but other people I have asked have had many side effects on it. I know nothing is perfect, but is there a better choice for me? I also take Synthroid 137mcg for Hypothyroid/Hashimotos and am on a steroid cream for my arm rashes. Thanks for your help.
