Hi, Dr. Narasi. I have Hep C. I also have cirrhosis, and, I need a liver transplant. The doctor needs to give me meds for the Hep C before the transplant, but, the urine test keeps coming back positive for THC. This is a false positive because I don't smoke marijuana. However, the insurance won't cover the treatment with false urine test results. I really need these meds for the Hep before they put me on a transplant list. If I have another false reading they want me to go to NA(?) for 90 days, before they proceed any further. What if the test continues to come back positive? I know that liver disease, and diabetes (which I also have) can cause false results, but, my Dr. just sees the tests results. What should I do?
