Hi Dr Rynne, I Sustained Major Injuries In The Mid

Hi Dr Rynne,
I sustained major injuries in the mid 1980's. I was run over by a car in a 55 MPH zone while hitchhiking at night. I eventually had to have my left leg removed below the knee. My left elbow was curshed and I am unable to extend my left arm or retract it fully. (Only about a 90 deg range of motion). My left hip is was also broken and prevents me from walking/running as I would prefer to be able to do. When I was a younger man I was able to adapt to the use of a prosthetic leg and became quite proficient at getting around. I would receive complements on how well I was doing and comments like "If I didn't know you I would never even know you had an amputated leg". Well the years have flown by and as I became an older man the compliments have dissipated along with my walking abilities. I now find myself spending a great deal of time in my wheelchair. Although I still drive my own vehicles I find it increasingly more difficult to do my own grocery and clothes shopping. It's becoming more and more painful for me to complete these simple tasks.
I am taking Novolog, Lantis, (Harvoni (Hep C), (Bipolar(Depression)), Lorazepam & Blood Pressure Medicines. Is there any thing you could suggest to help with my worsening pain level that would help me get up out of this chair? Thanks for your ear!
Sincerely,
Gary
