Hi, Dr. Rynne. Thank you for taking this question. A friend 81 years of age, has a small reddened swelling on one big toe beside the toenail on the adjacent second toe. She believes the overgrown adjacent nail caused the inner side of the big toe to have a small cut at the top of the inflamed area. She has applied peroxide and Neosporin ointment plus a bandaid and is concerned about the soreness and redness. Are there other measures that should be taken?
