Hi, For A Good Six Months I've Had A Lump

Hi,

For a good six months I've had a lump on my neck, right hand side just below my hairline. Its internal and I asked my boyfriend to feel it and he couldn't, but I can feel it. It isn't painful but when I move my head to the left its prominent. It's roughly the size of a cashew but. I don't want to go to the doctors and them think I'm worrying about nothing. Any suggestions?
