Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 19 years old and this past Wednesday I received the DEPO-PROVERA shot for a method of birth control and recently I have been getting really bad headaches that hurt and make me a bit dizzy, it also has my ear hurting but I have no idea if that from my allergies because for the past few night even before the shot was given I would wake up with a stuffy nose, but as far as right now this is the worst headache iv gotten since the shot I took some Advil (2 tablets) to help but didn't really change much is this something to worry about? and if I am experiencing this type of headaches does that mean that the birth control method isn't going to work for me? or is there something's the doctors can give me to help with the headaches from the birth control? and I used the shot method because the pill required daily reminding and I am very horrible and remembering and I knew for a fact on the pill you have to be very good and disciplined with remembering which I know I am not. so can some please give me information on when and when not to worry while on the DEPO shot! please and thank you!!
