Hi I Am 39yrs Old Got Married A Year Ago

Hi I am 39yrs old got married a year ago (this is my second marriage after a gap of 12yrs,I also have a daughter from my first marriage )
Two months back I got my D&C done....I am trying to conceive but unfortunately not able to, my husband us 10yrs elder to me.
I do not have health issues but diabetes run in my family, I really want to know what could be the reason for delay in my pregnancy.
Also I would want to know how far will diabeties affect my conceiving, if in case I get diabeties.
Please advice
