Hi. I Am 58 Years Old. I Have A L5

Hi. I am 58 years old. I have a L5 Si bulge which was diagnosed 18 months ago. From another MRI scan it has got worse. I had 2 injections June 2013 and 3 in Feb this year. Did not help.
Showing arthritis in back like a Christmas Tree !!
Gone alternative route. Mckenzie method and a trainer who did both sides due to rowing so was fantastic telling me gentle exercises to do.
However I am getting weak. I do have a bed wetting problem, have done for years but my concern is a "poo" as I seem to sit for ages wiping bottom and it keeps on coming. Very distressing or do I have a prolapsed bowel ??
Perhaps I should be brave and have a disctecomy but Phisio etc say I am bending well.
Back pain not bad but my right leg is very numb and have to be careful walking. Told leg might not come back and that is all I would like ?!!!!
Also having acupuncture which seems to help. Worried about bladder and poo. Will take your advice .
My Dr is lovely, and the surgeon wants to operate, but scared. Look forward on your advice !?!
