Hi,
I am a 38 yr old female, healthy, and I have been having issues with my right foot which is 12 years post-op bunionectomy. I was over corrected and my feet are a mess, particularly my middle toe which is now "hammer" shaped. It has been very painful and swollen lately and I thought it was due to surgery, but my doctor thinks it is gout. From what I have read, I don't really fit the profile of a gout sufferer. What is your opinion on this?
My blood pressure is fine--108/62 and I don't heavily drink or eat a ton of red meat. No family history of gout. My toe is warm to the touch, swollen and painful. Seems to be worse after standing or exercise. My doctor isn't sure it has anything to do with my over-corrected bunion surgery...
