Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a 48 yr old woman and have had some signs of change in my periods but nothing to alarm me. I missed a period twice in the last three years once when losing my sister and the other on my wedding day. I assume stress played a part in that. I was always pretty regular at 28 days but have been between 21-28 days for a year or more. I have missed my last two going on three periods. I am not pregnant but have concerns if it is more than just menopause or starting of menopause. Since I am uninsured I have not been able to find a doctor. I am still looking for a doctor that will take me with no insurance and paying cash. My concerns is that my mother passed at age 51 from rectal cancer but four years prior she had ovarian cancer (they said it was all removed in 1990, she passed in 1994). Is missing periods a concern or just a normal coarse with my age. I don't have any hot flashes or anything like that. Any advise would be helpful.
