Hi I Am A 60 Year Old Women, Diagnosed Type2

Hi I am a 60 year old women, diagnosed type2 diabetic ten years ago on Lantus insulin and glucovance(metforim glyberide combo pills) losartan and simivastatin. I have started having itchy palms and the area between my thumb and first finger has a nodule like a mosquito bite that itches but it is January (no mosquitoes) Have taken loratidine to control itching but not helping. Is this an early sign of carpal tunnel syndrome?
