Hi I Am After Some Advice On A Medical Professional

Hi I am after some advice on a medical professional level My Daughter had leg and knee surgery 9 months ago - soon after she developed DVT in that same leg this DVT has been treated and is stable at this stage ( it was solid from groin to ankle ) but now from knee to groin - she has been on Warfrin for several months now and very stable - we were going on a cruise for 2 weeks and unfortunately warfrin cannot be monitored on the ship so with advise from my daughters Vascular Specialist he advised she go on Clexane Injections of 100ml injection morning and 100ml injection night - ( but were clearly told by the same doctor injection thinners are measured by 1ml of medicine to 1kg of body weight - so when my daughter collected the prescription from the Vascular Specialist there was enough for the 2 weeks criuse - we left on a monday so daughter decided to start clexane injections on the tuesday so this she did by the wednesday later afternoon she could hardly move her leg so decided to rest up with ice pack and pain killers thinking it was caused by the stairs on cruise ship - by the next day (thursday ) she was in absolute pain and could not walk or bend her leg - she decided to see the Doctor onboard the ship and he suspected internal bleeding possibly caused by the dose of clexane ( his remark was that she was on far too much thinners and this was the reason for internal bleeding - the ships Doctor advised us to get off boat and go to Hospital at next port of which was New Zealand and so we did - the ships doctor had advised prior to us getting their - on arrival after consultation by the Orthopedic Specialist he confirmed internal bleeding and were very concerned that she was on such a high dosage of Clexane and after meeting with hematologist decided to drain blood from knee area of which they got 40ml - they had dropped her dosage to 1 x 100ml needle in morning only and to keep this way - I suppose at the end of the day what our question is was this a high dosage for my daughter ( she weighs 95 kg ) and 3o years of age - as she is supposed to see her Vascular Specialist in february and is very nervous to see him and to trust him seeing every doctor she had seen whilst away had clearly stated that the dose was too high could you please help us in this matter and advise us as to what to do please

Thankyou
Kay (mother )
