Hi... I Am Concerned About My Daughter Who Is Going

Hi... I am concerned about my daughter who is going in for a D&C for a 'missed miscarriage' or 'blighted ovum', she had her first OB U/S 2 weeks ago which showed no baby, just the empty sack (she did 3 pos. home preg. tests maybe 2-3 weeks before first appointment). Shouldn't they do another U/S and/or a blood hcg level BEFORE doing the D&C??? What if she has absorbed the sack and has an unnecessary procedure? And wouldn't a D&A be better? Her Dr. has had to talk to another Dr. to get back with her, then decided on the D&C.
