Hi, I Am Currently On Alysena Birth Control, And I

Hi, I am currently on Alysena birth control, and i just finished my first pack, I did not take the sugar pills for whatever reason and threw away the pack. I got my period probably on the second day of the sugar pills and had it for about 3 days, then i had unprotected sex a few days or even more later then that. Because I threw the pack away I wasnt quite sure when to start the next one. But i started it the day after I had sex. I might have went over the 7 days im not sure... would i still be protected? I'm worried that if i started the pack to late I might get pregnant.
