Hi I am having chest pain on both sides upper chest, kind of like a vice squeezing together so I can't breath. Have had heart checked, blood pressure and all good. It started weeks ago with a sinus infection that drained into my chest. I tried, inhaler, prednisone, antibiotics and it is worse 3-weeks later. The pain never goes away. I have a dry cough but no fever. I feel awful but the pain is most frightening. I went to the ER in UTAH on vacation because I felt like I was having a heart attack and they said all was ok, to check with my regular doctor upon return. The flight was awful, I felt like I couldn't get air. Absolutely scary! It's more when I lay down like I am drowning or something. My primary doctor did a breathing test and said my numbers were 90 breathing in and 70 breathing out. So, he did a nebulizer treatment and the numbers seemed to come back up to 90 and 90. I took another round of prednisone, antibiotics in case it was a stubborn strain and use the inhaler every 4-hours. Nothing is working and the only thing I can take is pain killers and help manage the pain. I cannot get a productive cough and feel exhausted like this thing is kicking my butt. I think God thinks I am bad ass but this is enough. I just had a neck fusion 4/5 on Dec. 2nd and finally recovered from that and now this. MY PCP ordered a CT scan which I am having on Thursday but I am absolutely terrified and have never had anything like this in my life. I did have pleurisy years ago from breathing in mold from a burst pipe they didn't repair and dry properly but it feels different. It feels like something is clogging my airways and I want to cough it up but it won't come up. Sometimes when I eat I get a good cough and it feels great. Otherwise, down and out and very active and don't know if I should exercise or not, thinking no since I am winded walking up stairs. Thank you and sorry so long winded but I am losing it and need some answers.
