Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am rh negative and my husband positive. I had to do amniocentesis due to my age. By. That time I was given the anti D injection to avoid the alloimunization and I was 17 weeks by that time and my Coombs was negative. I was then told I needed to repeat the injection 12 weeks later at around 29 weeks. Doubts started when my doctor was not sure if it was supposed to be given at 28 or 29 weeks or if it didn`t matter at all so I went to a specialist that told me that I needed to do the Indirect Coombs and if the result was negative I needed to take another injection but if the result was positive it would not be required. My doubt now is that the result came positive and I am 27 weeks. Will the injection taken at 17 weeks protects me till the end of pregnancy or will I need to make regular ICT to know?
