Hi, I Am Scheduled For A Complete Hysterectomy On May

Hi, I am scheduled for a complete hysterectomy on May 5. I am 52 years old and have been spotting for several months. My doctor wanted to do the hysterectomy a month ago. I asked him if we could do the D & C first because I have been in remission of Crohn's for over 20 years. He agreed and said that it looked fine. The spotting has continued so the hysterectomy is inevitable. Medicine free for 12 of those years until last summer. My last colonoscopy showed some inflammation so my GI put me on Lialda. I am concerned that the hysterectomy will cause my Crohn's to become active again. Can you tell me what percentage of patients who have been in remission have flare ups due to a hysterectomy? I am very concerned. I know I have to have the operation, but my quality of life has been fantastic for these last 20 years.
