Hi, I am strungling to answer these questions.
1.Discuss why patient HM could not learn new facts, but could learn new routines, like riding a bike.
2. Describe the human and animal research that lead to our understanding of the role of the hippocampus and cortex in the processing and storage of long-term declarative memory.
3. Discuss the expected consequences to the sensation of taste following a lesion to (a) the right solitary nucleus; (b) left cranial nerve 7 (facial nerve); (c) left cranial nerve 9 (glossopharyngeal nerve); (d) the right primary gustatory cortex (e) left cranial nerve 10 (vagus nerve).

4. What consequences would you expect following a complete lesion to the left ventral posterior medial (VPM) nucleus of the thalamus? NB: think back to other lectures where you have come across VPM.
Any help would be appreciated.
