Hi. I Am Taking Sulfameth For An Infection, But I

Hi. I am taking sulfameth for an infection, but I am getting really bad pain in my joints hands and fingers. Should i switch to a different med and stop taking this med immediately. I dont' want the absess to come back and it is draining, but I can't use my hands it's so bad
