Hi I am the wife of a police officer in the uk. In February he arrested a man who was from Zimbabwe there was a struggle and the man cut his head causing it to bleed allot, enough to cover my husbands hands and coat and shoes. Once help had arrived my husband was able to return to the station to wash his hands where he noticed a large graze on his knuckles that had been bleeding, this was scabbard the following day. We did a home hiv saliva test at home 5-6 weeks later which was negative. My husband was sent for a hepatitis jab. Just wondered what the chances of husband getting hiv as man's status unknown.
