Hi, I Continuously Get A Strong Tickle In My Throat

Hi, I continuously get a strong tickle in my throat which causes me to have coughing attacks. It could be while I am eating or just sitting at my desk working. Sometimes it calms after eating something crunchy to scratch the throat or chewing gum or drinking water at room temperature. I also have the coughing attack when I drink ice cold water or drink and too hot coffee. Will you please advise... Thank you.
