Hi, I Gave Birth 18 Days Ago And The Strain

Hi,
I gave birth 18 days ago and the strain of pushing caused a hemorrhoid flare up. I noticed today that it felt smaller when I wiped after using the toilet so I cleaned the area and felt it to see how much it shrank. I felt a small open sore so I inspected it in the mirror. There is an open sore, it's bright red and pink and is moist although not actively leaking any fluid. It itches constantly and it's really painful to sit down. I'm wondering if this is something that can wait for my scheduled obgyn appointment in 3 days or if I need to seek medical attention before then? If it's a normal occurrence and I don't need to be overly concerned what can I do to speed up recovery?
