Hi, I Had Maxillofacial Surgery A Good Few Years Ago

Hi, I had Maxillofacial surgery a good few years ago now and was left with plates in my jaw and underneath my nose. I have recently noticed that the left side of my face appears inflamed and my nostril seems to have stretched and flares especially when I smile. is it possible for the plates to move and cause this or is it likely to be something else? I am also have increased sensitivity on the upper left jaw.
