Hi, I Had A Blood Test On NSE A Month

Hi, I had a blood test on NSE a month ago and the results came back as 14.5 The normal range is 12.5 from what I saw on my report. I have already discussed with a couple of doctors is it serious or not and they said they are not sure. The doctor who did my test is on leave until 19th September, so I am unable to see him at present. There has been a history of lung cancer in my dads side of the family. My grandad died of it at age 53 and my uncle at age 38. I am nearly 39 myself. Should I get a CT scan done on my lungs or should I go see a lung specialist about this? I had a cold when my tests were done, and so maybe that is why the NSE was a bit higher. I still have a bit of a cough sometimes at present. I also had a chest xray done 13 years ago, and it came back as I had a touch of astma. Should I be concerend. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards Paul.
