Hi I Had A Fairly Small Anal Skin Tag Removed

Hi I had a fairly small anal skin tag removed 13 days ago...pain has been OK but it's still very tender to touch and sometimes to sit down...it has improved as after I had it done it just looked like I had a very large hemmoroid. And it is now half the size. But my doctor said it would eventually go back into my bum so it looked normal... Is this true? Because I am starting to worry that it will always be there?
