Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I had a pericardial cyst removed 5 years ago. Ever since I have had problems with eating- I have to eat very slowly or I fel like I cannot swallow. I get tired very easily, I cannot exercise like. I used to or hike or swim or ride a bike. I feel like my food gets stuck. I have been told I gave GERD and IBS. Also, my right diaphragm is paralyzed. My gastro doctor has stretched my esopgphagus to help. He ran some tests and concluded that my esophagus does not twist and contract like it should after the thoracic surgery. I am going to have an EMG to determine the extent of damage to the phrenic nerve. My pulmonilogist and surgeon did a sniff test and observed that my right diaphragm doesn't move at all and we're concerned something else could be wrong but what? I feel tired a lot and cannot keep up with my daily tasks. I do work full time at a desk job. But my husband does all of the cleaning most of the time. I don't sleep we'll. I was tested for sleep apnea but do not have that. Not sure what to do from here. Also when I eat it seems like my food doesn't go down all the way. I am often bloated after eating. Can this all be related to the same issue? I didn't have these problems before the thoracic surgery.
