Hi, I Had An Adult Tonsillectomy 9 Days Ago, I'm

Hi, I had an adult tonsillectomy 9 days ago, I'm recovering nicely (and painfully) but there is one issue that I can't seem to find information on anywhere. Instead of blowing snot and congestion out of my nose, I have to inhale and make it into a lugie and then spit it out. Every hour or so I have to do this. It's as if a huge amount of snot will suddenly start making its way down my throat instead of down my nostrils, and then, all at once, it comes together, causes me discomfort, and I expel it by snorting and expelling it through my mouth. The main problem I have from this is that after I do it my entire sinus tract is extremely dry, including my upper throat, like completely dry, and it causes even greater discomfort. It's like my body is producing an unregulated amount of mucus, stopping production, then rapidly turning it on, then turning it off again for almost an hour. Does anyone know what this is about? I'm really concerned that it's going to continue after my recovery.
