Hi I Had My Annual Eye Exam Aprox 3 Weeks

Hi I had my annual eye exam aprox 3 weeks ago. The tech said my eyes were 20/20 with current glasses. He also performed a test where he sort of gently tapped my eye with an instrument, problem was he couldn't get a reading so had to do it several times on left eye and like 5-6 times on right. At end of visit dr said I have the start of glaucoma. I did not have pain before the visit but have been in constant discomfort for 3 weeks and it is steady. My question is did I pick up an infection or was the exam too harsh that I am feeling discomfort, dry eyes and eyes scratchy ?
What should I do , I am not sure if I want to go back to that same doctors office?
