Hi I Had Surgery For Umbilical Hernia Yesterday And Used

Hi I had surgery for umbilical hernia yesterday and used ibuprofin 600mg to manage the pain. I'm a 30 year recovered alcoholic male 65 in otherwise good health. I turned down a oxceycodin script at the hospital and used some ibuprofin 600. It did not mange the pain and I was up many times.
I explained my situation to my Dr's assistant and they sent in a script for Tramadol. After looking up the drug I found it to be addictive with many side effects. Can you suggest an alternative.
