Hi I Had The Mirena Fitted About 4 Months Ago,

Hi I had the mirena fitted about 4 months ago, these past two weeks I have had really heavy periods , I just tried to insert a tampon and it wouldn't go in. I then noticed the mirena strings where hanging out of me, do you think it was fallen out? Should I go to the doctors? Thanks
