I had unprotected sex last Sunday night/Monday morning with a new partner. On Saturday morning (5 days later) I woke up with night sweats and a sore throat. I may have been running a fever (it did feel like I was) but I did not take my own temperature - it would have been mild if I was. Since then I have experienced diarrhea daily. Also, every night around when I go to bed, through the night, and in the morning, I have the chills (maybe a mild fever), sore throat, musle/joint aches, and continued diarrhea.
Can acute HIV symptoms occur this suddenly? If so, is it likely? Would it be too early to get tested now? I'd like to get tested as soon as possible - but want to make sure I'm not taking the test before it's detectable. Thanks for answering any of my questions.
