Hi. I have COPD with mild emphysema (second-hand smoke, VOC exposure), and in 2010 had an upper GI endoscope. It showed my Toupet surgery from 1999; neg. for gastric irritation. I'm on Prilosec. My recent blood work showed: 1) K:3.3; 2) monocyte/100 leucocytes 10.0; 3) lipase: 167. Bilirubin normal. Here's my almost daily, fluctuating symptom since 2009, after which I had the normal upper GI test: recurring pain in upper left quadrant with occasional pain directly into back. I wonder if my spleen is enlarged. I realize that gastro pathologies can be difficult to diagnose. I get the results of my recent CT with barium drink this coming Tuesday. I turned 65 last Dec. and have no diabetes; I'm not obese; I exercise daily (frequently the bouncing of walking in the woods "stimulates" a rise in my upper left quad pain). I also have degenerative disc disease (diagnosed: S1, L2-5 w/ stenosis on 5) controlled through home remedies and maintaining muscle strength by doing "planking." I wonder if thoracic 8 is pressing on nerves that lead into my abdomen.
