Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have a 1 month year old son. When he was born I noticed that he had very thin lips and a long philtrum. It also looks like he has a very large overbites because his top lip completely covers his bottom lip. I rarely ever see his bottom lip and when I lift up his lip it doesn't look like he has much of a bottom lip anyway. No one at the hospital said anything about it but when I went for his checkup I ask my pediatrician. She said that he was presenting like he had fetal alcoholism syndrome. But that is entirely not possible because I haven't drank anything in years. She suggested that I go see a geneticist. But the quickest that I can get in is in 6 months from now. He's gaining weight appropriately and so far he's meeting all of his milestones. My question would be what other syndromes could this be? How much can his appearance change relating to his philtrum and lips?
