Hi, I Have A Cough / Cold, And My Sputum

Hi, I have a cough / cold, and my sputum tastes metallic and foul. It does not taste quite like blood, and there is no blood - it is light green. I'm wondering what I might have and whether I should see a doctor. Some people have contracted pneumonia where I work and I'm concerned this is a sign of it.
