Hi! I Have A Frenum Muscle Between My Two Front

Hi! I have a frenum muscle between my two front teeth and my ortho said I should get it removed but that it may go away on its own. It has not gone away and my braces have pushed my two front teeth together so that they are squeezing the muscle and it hurts to eat. Is there something I should do asap to prevent further problems and is there anything I can do to numb the pain??
